I think that Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory the 1971 movie with Gene Wilder and sequel Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, the novel by Roald Dahl, are good metaphors for the transit of Pluto from Capricorn into Aquarius.
The chocolate factory, holds great power in the imagination of the people, yet its methods of production of capital are completely hidden behind it’s towering walls.
Fueled by mystique and myth, the people endlessly consume, and when the contest is announced, people spend immense amounts of money and time gluttonously opening and discarding chocolate to find the golden ticket.
Pluto rules secrets, avenues of power, corruption and the underworld, which has been in Capricorn since 2008, until recently, bringing to mind images of sandstone buildings, hierarchical systems of power and governance, oligarchy and tradition.
The chocolate factory which it’s hidden methods of capital production and labor, is an institution allowed to exist in a state of opacity by the people’s love of consumption and decadence.
Charlie is tested for his loyalty and ability to withstand the temptation of corruption and passes.
Anyway I always thought that the sequel which I read as a child was a really strange turn in the story. And it’s this discord which reminded me of the change from Pluto in Capricorn into Aquarius.
They quite literally enter the sky, the elevator takes Charlie and his entire family onto a space ship where aliens who are like eels line up in elevators and spell out the word scram with their bodies. In this analogy they represent the new relationships between humans and AI or non human intelligences
What I think resonates with the current climate is how the systems of traditional power, when viewed from this strange space station, the power they once held seems to disintegrate simply by its contrast to the new reality.
The last gasp of the Pluto in Capricorn era, reminds me of Gene Wilder yelling at Charlie for breaking the rules, saying he broke the contract and ruined everything and had to leave. When Charlie resists corruption and leaves an everlasting gobstopper on the desk as a sign he won’t give up the secrets of the factory, Wonka whispers to himself, “So shines, a good deed in a weary world.”
He then tells Charlie he inherits the factory and takes him into space.
look long story short, the factory symbolises industry post-2008 global financial crisis-the great glass elevator, the challenges of AI and technological, decentralised new systems of power brought in during the next 20 years of Pluto in Aquarius.
That hectic psychedelic boatride, really did feel like pertinent to the energy lately as well. images of what they all fear appear projected on the walls as Wonka sings louder and louder until they reach the invention room,
also mercury is retrograde rn, until the 15th of December. So as per allow a little extra time if you have anything nuanced or complex to complete, conversations that could be misunderstood stay calm and allow for extra time to discuss etc etc etc common sense stuff i guess.
with the moon in libra if you have time to do things re: beauty, aesthetics, scent, body, music , poetry and the home, it could be a nice negation of other more challenging energies.
after the intensity of the last month and being lost working through any not yet processed emotions, understanding legacy and ancestry more and delving into relational patterns, this Sagittarius season will bring in a fresh breeze and allow perspective and action.
Sagittarius can encourage new methods of thinking, studying and acting. Imagine how good it would feel to ride a horse through a vast grassland and shoot and arrow into the distance.

honestly rewatching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (‘71 version though) was really good, Gene Wilder really has some good lines in this movie, at one point he says to Veruca Salt when she demands something, “We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams”

any grounding techniques that work, I think the start of sagittarius season can feel quite fast hot and windy after the depths of scorpio season so take time to acclimatise.
