The Maltese Falcon 1941
The new moon in Scorpio and Mars in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn calls us to draw from the well of our sub-conscious and the collective un-conscious.
There is a libidinal or inner energy that may have us searching for connections that are authentic and help us to further understand aspects of our past, identity and experience of reality. A search for the truth in a way.
The astrology reminds me of the theme of rivalry, the etymology of which is the “late 16th century: from Latin rivalis, originally in the sense ‘person using the same stream as another’ "
That sharing a flow of resources, which is finite, that changes with the weather and the environment, needs either a deep cooperative spirit between the parties, or it would lead to disagreements and fighting
The rivers of power and resources we share today require the same management.
I wonder about the place of rivals in our lives today, and how they are a fact of life. What makes a healthy rivalry, and what makes one a victim of jealousy or loss of confidence.
I have found that being able to at least recognise rivalry helps with processing feelings of jealousy and inadequacy. Which I assume are normal parts of being an adult. lol …right? surely.
This transit while potentially a discordant one, that may force growth or breaking down of structures that don’t serve you, comes at least as a force of momentum after a period where it may have been difficult to act or create in ways that felt productive.
It feels like a time suited to themes that are hypnotic or mesmerising, where dreams could help move along paths of psychic inquiry. The sort of time where a line from a movie, song or book could answer a question or help you to reach a new understanding of a situation that has come to a stale mate.
I would suggest, though I am obviously not a doctor or health professional, that as always it’s a good time to prioritise good, deep sleep and anti-inflammatory self care practices.
Think about your relationship to power in yourself and your own life, and ways to make yourself feel connected to your own source of that when it feels harder to access.
Oh! the last think I was thinking about, in The Nightlife Astrology podcast the presenter mentioned the connection between Scorpio and cyber security,
Themes of safety and privacy may come up, so doing a cyber security scan and making sure that’s up to date could be useful.
Home security too maybe, not in a fearful way just taking time to contemplate that, and what that means to you.
some key themes I would say are the themes of safety, security, privacy, the home, power, knowledge as power mb? intel, digital detox, new forms and avenues of communication. boundaries and vulnerability and authenticity, digital currency or banking? our relationships to truth and honesty
okayyyyyyy lmk how you’re going and everything,
my recommendations
slow movement practices
yoga nidra/ somatic practices if they work for you
string music, particularly cello
chess and poker , psychological games
cleaning your glasses, laptop screen, phone screen.
role playing table top games, or charades, acting anything that allows you try out different ways of communicating and different relationship dynamics.
falcons? why, maybe because they are symbols of power, freedom, control. I have just seen a few reference by happenstance so think they could be a good research prompt, Jaakko Pallasvuo, on their instagram avocado_ibuprofen recently illustrated a Yeats poem about falcons, if you are interested.
mmmmkayyyyyyyy all the best <3 thankyou for your ongoing support it means a lot to me
Omg I saw an eagle today on a walk near Castlemaine, close enough for this to feel uncanny..
